When I started New Destiny Life Coaching, I must admit… the mission and motivation behind it was arguably a bit idealistic. There I was, having been abruptly and unduly 'helped out' of a (by most accounts) a highly successful, well-paying corporate management position. And remarkably, down wasn't the appropriate emotion to describe what I was feeling. Instead, there was a feeling of relief… a sense of being considerably lighter, as if some longstanding mass had been finally displaced from my shoulders. Confident in the belief that when one door closes, another opens up - I felt I could find a comparable replacement. But should I? You see, I soon begin to realize that, being out of that stress-filled, often times cutthroat environment, I was rapidly morphing into someone I liked considerably better. Leaving me with the startling revelation that that great salary I had, had apparently been coming at much too high a price... And it was in this new state of consciousness that I came to believe that my unwarranted exit from Corporate America was in fact the kind of life-affirming opportunity I had neglected to create for myself. Simply put, this was my destiny presenting me with an emphatic wake-up call - "I wasn't getting any younger… it was the time for meaningful change." A little background… As far back as I can recall, I've had an affinity for helping others… for doing my part to make the world a better place. Ultimately, after the devastating loss of my Mom (my utmost life-changing event), I came to appreciate that beyond merely an affinity, this was to be my life's purpose. And so, whatever that meaningful change to be sought, it would stand to reason that it be most prominently rooted in my life's purpose - making a difference in people's lives.
